About the Pilot Car Safety & Standards Council (PCSSC)
PCSSC believes that states should enforce existing laws effectively before introducing new regulations, and that any future changes should be sensible, well-discussed, and industry-informed. Every member has a voice, and our council draws participation from all areas of the heavy haul and oversize load community — including pilot car operators, trucking companies, and permit services — to provide a balanced, experience-driven perspective on safety and standards.
The Pilot Car Safety & Standards Council (PCSSC) was founded by experienced members of the heavy haul pilot community with a shared goal: to promote true safety through education, communication, and collaboration. Our mission is to ensure that pilot vehicle operators are fully informed of all laws, regulations, and operational requirements that impact the industry.
